Élodie, the renovation that makes the kitchen the heart of the home

A kitchen and bathroom renovation project to gain space, light and functionality in the centre of Sabadell.

Kitchen

This renovation was based on a very clear intention: to transform a small, closed kitchen into a spacious and welcoming space where a family of four could live their daily lives.

The proposal began with an important structural decision: to join the original kitchen with an adjoining room to gain metres, light and visual connection with the rest of the house. This new space allowed the integration of a large glass door, which connects the kitchen with the day area and multiplies the entry of natural light.

The kitchen is divided into two functional areas: a work area with a peninsula and bar, and a dining area with large cupboards for storage and a small office area.

As for the finishes, we sought a balance between warmth and sobriety: white furniture with gola handles and matching skirting boards in the work area, and natural oak wood in the dining area.

Bathroom

The original bathroom was spacious, but with an inefficient layout. A partition wall separated the shower and the dark tiles detracted light from the space. We knocked down the partition and installed a large shower tray with a fixed glass screen to visually open up the space.

To reinforce functionality, we built a wall 120 cm above the floor, finished in white porcelain, which serves as a shelf for soaps and accessories. The ensemble is completed with light tiles on the floor and walls, an oak laminate cabinet and a large mirror that amplifies the feeling of spaciousness.

The sanitary fittings and taps, both built-in, give a modern and clean look.

A refurbishment designed to enjoy everyday life with more space, more light and more warmth.
